Chelsea Ohlemiller attended Ball State University, Anderson University, and the University of Alabama. She is an educator and, when her mother passed from cancer in 2017, a writer. She owns the website Happiness, Hope & Harsh Realities, where she and others support international peers who are experiencing grief and loss. Chelsea lives in Indiana with her husband and three children.
