Pam Chapman Markle is a record-holding ultramarathoner. The first competitive race in which she ran was 100 miles. Among her many accomplishments, which are too extensive to name, she has completed the Badwater 135 mile race, widely considered the world's most difficult footrace, six times; she ran it once with a concussion, and, during her most recent run, with a prosthetic hip. The records she holds are numerous and were earned in regards to age, gender, time, and/or distance. As of the time of this interview, Pam is 67 years old and gearing up for her next race, which is 250 miles. In addition, she works as a nurse anesthesiologist and is a cancer survivor. Pam and her husband Spencer live in San Leon, Texas and are proud parents and grandparents.
